Kindergarten Homework I believe homework is important because it helps students make the most of their experience in school. I give homework because it is useful in reinforcing what has been learned in class, provides practice time, teaches responsibility, and helps students develop positive study habits. We’ve got one month of school under our belts and our formal homework assignments will begin this week. Homework will be sent home on the first day of each week and will be due by the last day of that week. The activities included in the homework packet are not meant to be done all in one night. Homework loses its effectiveness if it is crammed into one night. Here are homework expectations for kindergarteners: -homework is completed on time -homework is done neatly, in the best way we know how -homework is done in pencil and/or crayon when necessary -homework is done by the child, side by side with an adult family member I feel that parents are the key to making homework a positive experience for their children. Therefore, I ask that parents make homework a top priority, provide necessary supplies and a quiet homework environment, set a daily homework time and provide praise and support. Homework is graded each semester on the report card and is a very important part of the kindergarten program. Have fun with homework and make it enjoyable! It is my hope that homework time becomes a special time for you and your child! Happy Learning!
