Week of Feb.6-Feb.10: Classroom News: Health Extra Credit for the 3rd 9 weeks can be viewed on the third grade page @ www.campcreekschool.com. Ms. Anderson has gone over this at home project for students wanting to earn an E in health for the 3rd 9 weeks.There hasn't been any information sent home. You must go to the 3rd gr.website and click on health extra credit. Feb.8: HIGH TOUCH HIGH TOUCH Our program will be on Georgia Geology. This is an In-school Field Trip. Feb: 14: Valentine's Day Class Party We will exchange cards with each other so each student needs to have a Valentine for their classmates. They need a container of any kind to collect their Valentine's in. Have fun creating something to collect your cards in. It does not have to be a shoebox. It can be a box, or a bag, or anything else the student wants to use. Please be sure that your name is clearly marked so friends will know where to deliver your cards! Feb: 17: No school Feb. 20: No School Feb. 24: Extra Credit Health Project Due! Feb. 24: 3rd Grade Hoe Down 9:05 am in the gym. Students have been working on square dancing during music and will perform. They need to wear their western wear. Denim, cowboy hats, bandanas, etc. Parents, please join us! Feb 27 & 28: Early Release Days Curriculum: Reading: We will continue to focus on a variety of genres. (fiction, nonfiction, drama, and poetry) We will also work on drawing conclusions, making predictions, comparing and contrasting, and making generalizations. Writer's Workshop:We will use similes in our writing as we describe our pretend creatures that were created in science. Grammar:We will focus on homophones and synonyms. Word Study: We will focus on spelling homophones correctly. Math: We will begin Unit 7 on multiplication and division facts. We will have a 5 minute timed test for on multiplication facts 0-12 and on addition & subtraction facts 0-18. Please encourage your child to complete the February Math Calendar. Social Studies: We will conclude our study on Eleanor Roosevelt. Science: We begin a unit on heat and energy.
