1st Quarter Math Goals Unit 1 1. Students will be introduced to daily routines. 2. Students will use the number line to count up and back to solve number stories, and play Number Line Squeeze It. 3. Students will use Pattern Shape Templates to draw examples of math in Everyday Life. 4. Students will correctly write numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. 5. Students will find numbers that are 1 more or 1 less than a given number. 6. Students will compare a pair numbers to determine which is larger and which is smaller. 7. Students will count and write tally marks. 8. Students will write the numbers in correct sequence to complete a calendar. Unit 2 1. Students will count up and back on the number grid. 2. Students will learn to say their home telephone number and write their home telephone number. 3. Students will explore complements of 10. 4. Students will write unit labels for numbers. 5. Students will tell time to the hour using an analog clock. 6. Students will draw the hands on an analog clock to show the correct time. 7. Students will write amounts of pennies using cent notation. 8. Students will compare amounts of pennies. 9. Students will know the value of one nickel and count nickels. 10. Students will count combinations of nickels and pennies. 11. Students will write and solve their own number stories.
