School Mass is every Thursday at 8:10. Come and join us!! Seventh Grade The study of the New Testament- the teachings and life of Jesus Christ. We learn about Jesus and his relationship with his apostles, his mother and disciples. We study the sacraments, parts of the Mass and how to find readings in the Bible. Class discussions will be on living life through Jesus' teachings and examples. Daily readings and prayers at the beginning of each class. Class prayer is the Memorare- see below. Eighth Grade This course is the study of the history of the Catholic Church down through the ages to the present time. It is an informative and honest look at the hierarchy of the Church, the councils, Reformation and Counter Reformation. We look at the spread of Christianity-how, when and where, the persecution of Christians,the reign of Constantine, and the Inquisition. Students will learn about saints, popes, prophets, missionaries and religious communities. Pope Power Point Presentations were well done and quite interesting. Students learned a lot about their own pope and their classmates" popes through research and oral presentations. ******All Middle School students will receive a service sheet to record service hours for first term. Two hours of service time must be completed by the fourth week of the term for a quiz grade. The last two hours will be due at the end of the first term-- for another quiz grade which leaves us with 4 hours of service per term. Late service sheets WILL NOT be accepted. Second term first two hrs. will be due on Nov. 13th.
