Click Here to see my Welcome!!! Message

The above welcome message was done at a workshop I attended this past summer. We had so much fun, but I learned lots!!!! and will bring those into the classroom.

Well, it is here -- the beginning of a new year! I am excited to continue my 18th year of teaching! Please note that I am asking my students to purchase:

  • Grades 1-8: a flash drive (2 gig is more than enough....) :)
  • a 3 prong, pocket folder specifically, only for computer class
  • 7th grade Careers students, please have in addition to your folder a spiral-bound notebook specifically for Careers
  • A SIGNED ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY (AUP). If I do not have your child's AUP for Monday's class, they will not be allowed to use the school's computer and internet service. The AUP will be sent home the first day of school. Please only return the second sheet and keep the first sheet for reference.
Please feel free to email me at lj.orszulak@yahoo.com should you have any questions or concerns.

Welcome to my website! As an educator in my 18th year of teaching, I grew up in the Town of Tonawanda, attended Kenmore East Senior High School eventually obtaining my Master degree in Educational Technology at the State University College of New York at Buffalo.

I worked in the business field for several years. After I married John, he encouraged me to quit my job and return to school to obtain my teaching certificate in Business Education.

As I continued my education, I substituted at Covenant Academy in the Town of Tonawanda, along with a couple public school districts. After graduation from Daemen College, I began my teaching career at Covenant Academy, teaching PreK through 8th grade students basic computer and word processing skills in the computer lab. I developed a scope and sequence for each grade level through researching the NYS Learning Standards and the National Education Technology Standards (NETS). Eventually, I earned the title as a Technology Integration Specialist, working with the teachers in teaching them how to integrate technology into their curriculum.

My Master's degree has enabled me to teach teachers as well as students. I have taught at two conferences as well as a few staff development workshops. The workshops I have led were teaching teachers how to integrate technology into classroom curriculum and designing WebQuests.

I am looking forward to my second year at St. Matthew Lutheran School. I am very excited about this year. It will be full of changes from last year as our students will learn how to use the computer for their school work as well as the teachers learning the computers to teach their lessons.
