AP BIOLOGY TRANSPIRATION LAB 2008-2009
In this laboratory, students applied what they learned about water potential during the diffusion and osmosis lab to observations of the movement of water within a plant. They studied the process of transpiration, as well as the organization of the plant stem in relation to water transport by observing sections of fresh plant tissue. In order to do this, students needed an understanding of how water moves from roots to leaves in terms of the physical and chemical properties of water, plus the forces provided by differences in water potential.
