Week of November 16, 2009

 

Monday 11/16/09

 

·       Start studying this week’s spelling/vocabulary words, WordlyWise (Lesson 6); review pages 48-50 for definitions then complete pages 51-53 by Thursday, 11-19-09. The spelling assignment is also due by Thursday. TEST on Friday, 11/20.

Tuesday

11/17/09

 

·       Continue studying and revising multiplication facts; facts through the 12’s should be memorized within the next 2 weeks.

·       Continue to review the Math vocabulary packet. Words with asterisks have been taught and should be understood by students.

 

Wednesday

 11/18/09

 

 

·       Science Fair ideas due.

·       Reading Journals due tomorrow (at least 3 entries about daily readings)

Thursday

 11/19/09

 

 

·       Spelling/Vocabulary assignments due.

·       Reading Journals due.

·       Spelling/Vocabulary test tomorrow.

Friday

 11/20/09

 

 

 

·       Spelling/Vocabulary Test (Lesson 6 & chosen PSIA words)

 

 

 

NOTES AND COMMENTS - Read each evening for at least 20 minutes.   November summaries are due by Thursday, December 3, 2009. *Chosen books should be at least 100 pages.

 

Science Fair ideas should be submitted by Wednesday, 11/18/09. This year’s Science Fair takes place, ISA, on January 27, 2010. *Each student is expected to take part and the project counts as a test grade. (At this point, I only want to know what projects students are planning to do.)

 

SCIENCE TEST, Monday, 11-23-09 - Observing Weather, pp.D26-D50.

 

READING QUIZ, Tuesday, 11-24-09 – ‘How My Family Lives in America’, Literacy Place.

 

We’re starting to prep for the upcoming PSIA competitions scheduled for next year. Please let me know if you don’t want your child to be considered. The two categories for 3rd Grade are spelling and writing.
