Sea Shells - 1
|
|
Sea shells shown here were gathered on Grand Bahama Island during various beachcombing trips. Most were found at Barbary, Taino or Williamstown Beaches. Every attempt was made to be sure the shells were empty so no animals died just to get their shells. Most shells were soaked in a diluted bleach solution for a period of time to clean and whiten them. After soaking, they were laid out on towels to dry. Shells were then sorted and bagged. Sea urchins, sea biscuits, sand dollars, sea fans, sponges, coral and other sea life were also collected. Pictures of these are also a part of the photo album.
