The Hawaii Ocean Guardians Kid’s Club and Contest

This contest is part of the 2008 International Year of the

Reef. The contest is open to all students in grades K through 8 in the

United States, and encourages youngsters to express their insights and

observations about the ocean and sensitive coral reef ecosystems through

the creation of original stories, poetry or works of art. Deadline for

Radish Growing Contest

Tentative schedule for this activity:

December 12^th: Deadline to register your 3rd Grade Students.

January 12^th – 16^th: materials will be delivered to schools.

February 9^th - February 12^th: students prepare soil.

February 13—16 PLANT SEEDS! (Seeds must be planted by this date!)

March 13^th: students will bring their radishes to school, the 4-H Office will pick them up (in the morning) and deliver the radishes to Sarasota County Fair.

March 13^th: radishes are judged at fair grounds.
