Chocolate coins are being recalled due to fact that they
contain Melamine, the ingredient in milk product that has caused
many infant (and dog) deaths in China. These candies are sold at Costco, as
well as many bulk and dollar stores. Please make sure to check your
childrens Halloween candy and DO NOT LET THEM EAT THE PIRATE COINS (you know
the ones wrapped in the shiny gold foil) and please let other parents know Birthday party invitations- Unless you are inviting all the girls and/or all the boys in our class, please do not send birthday party invitations to school to be passed out. It is a very hurtful thing when one child is left out. If you need addresses until the directory comes out, let me know and I'll be happy to provide them. Thank you for your understanding in this matter. Special Schedule:- Monday- Gym 10:21- 11:01 Wednesday- Computer- 1:46- 2:26 Thursday- Music 8:55- 9:35, Spanish 1:46- 2:26 Friday- Art 12:20-1:00 Bam-Bam the gorilla is a member of our class and will be going home with one of the children every night. He will have a journal in which the children need to write what Bam Bam did- in his words. I read a bit of last year's journal to give them an idea of how the wording should be. For example- instead of saying "Bam Bam played soccer with me". It should read "I played soccer with (student's name who took him home)". This way it sounds like Bam Bam is talking. Last year's class had a blast with Bam Bam and I hope this year's class enjoys him as much. http://www.aaastudy.com/index This is a great math site for practicing skills. When you get on the site, go to the left tool bar (ignore the subscription information) and click on the desired math skill. It will then give you choices for learning, practicing and playing math games. I just did the addition one where it asks you how many problems can you get in 60 seconds. I got 41!! Not too bad for the first time. A fantastic way to practice math facts and not as boring as flash cards. All children riding buses are here by 8:05. Students being dropped off need to be unpacked and in the classroom by 8:15.
