Ladies and gentlemen, you are about to embark on an excellent adventure known as Chemistry class.  What does every single thing have in common?  All matter is all made of the same basic particles; atoms. The unique properties of different types of matter are caused only by the types of atoms present and how they interact.   The study of matter, it's properties, and how we can manipulate matter is the  main focus of the study of chemistry. 

 
This class will provide you with a firm background in the basic concepts of chemistry and how it relates to the world around us.  Scientific skills such as experimentation, measurement, and reporting are emphasized.  Problem solving is stressed throughout, and students are required to work with percentages, decimals, ratios, and simple algebra.  This course satisfies one science laboratory requirement
