HOW TO MAKE A WORDLE OR A TAGXEDO

  1. Open Word

  2. Type a list of words that describe what your Wordle/Tagxedo is about.
    • To make sure a group of words stay together, you need to type a ~ between each word. Ex. Alanta~Falcons

  3. Copy your list of words

  4. Go to Wordle.net  or Go to Tagxedo.com

  5. Wordle - Click on the "Create Your Own" link
Tagxedo - click on "Start Now"

  6. Wordle - Paste your copied words into the "Paste in a bunch of text:" box found at the top.
Tagxedo - Click on "Load" found at the top under the purple Word section.  Click in the "Enter" box and then paste the words you just copied.

  7. Wordle - Click on the "Go" link
Tagxedo - Click on the "Submit" button

  8. Now use the options to change your font style, color, size, location, and in Tagxedo you can even change the shape that your words are placed in.

Helpful Hints:

  • Typing your list in Word will allow you to go back to Word and make adjustments to your words and then repaste them into Wordle/Tagxedo if you don't like the looks of your Wordle/Tagxedo.

  • If you want a word to appear LARGER, then type that word multiple times. The higher the frequency of a word, the larger it will be!

Ex - if my Wordle is on Johnny Appleseed, and I would want this word to be larger, I would have to type Johnny~Appleseed several times (Johnny~Appleseed Johnny~Appleseed Johnny~Appleseed ).

  • Wordle - When you are looking at your Wordle you can...
    • remove a word by right clicking on the word and then choosing remove it.
    • change the font, layout, and color by clicking on these options found at the top of your Wordle
    • change the way the words are organized by clicking on the Randomize button found at the bottom of your Wordle

  • Use shorter groups of words when possible, but make sure your words are quality and focused on the topic you are given.

  • After you have finished making all your changes...
    • click on the print button found at the bottom of your Wordle or at the top of your Tagxedo (in Tagxedo you will also have to click on the print tab, choose your printer then click on the print button)
    • In Wordle - choose the Adobe pdf option for the printer
    • In Wordle  - save the file under your drive with an appropriate filename.

  • Remember the Wordle/Tagxedo should represents all aspects of the topic you've been assigned.
