The High School Residency Program provides an introduction and overview of the many opportunities available in the world of accounting. Benefits: The program introduces students to college life by hosting them in the dorms, attending classes, and eating in the dining halls. Students will have the opportunity to learn more about the accounting profession and life as a college student.
Additionally, students will get hands on experience through accounting case studies and computer classes. Presentations from representatives of national and local accounting firms, industry (Coca-Cola , Georgia Pacific), and government (FBI, SEC) help show the exciting and different types of job opportunities available in accounting. Students get a hands-on experience through accounting case studies and computer classes. Location: The High School Residency Program will be hosted at the University of Georgia in Athens, GA in July 12-15 2009. Cost:
This highly subsidized, three-day program is available to students for a $50 participation fee that is due upon acceptance to the program. Application Process: Please click the link below to download the application. Applications received must include a recommendation from the student’s school guidance counselor or teacher. All applications are due at the GSCPA office by April 10, 2009: students will be notified of their acceptance by the end of April.
