As your child's skills in reading develop, they may be ready to read some easy chapter books.  Below is a list of chapter books that may be of interest to your child. We have indicated the book level.

There are many "at home" things that can enhance and help develop your child's math skills. Below is a list of suggestions for you and your first grader.

*Sort clothes
*Set the table for meals
*Number of the Day Activities
*Use the calendar
*Use a calculator
*Measure things with a ruler, yardstick, paperclips, socks etc.
*Cook, use measuring cups, measuring spoons, etc.
*Cut food, play doh etc., talk about fractions
*Ask a story problem
*Water play with different sized cotainers (volume)
