Guided by faith...in all we do and who we are
|

Due to the short week, we will not be starting new chapters or units in any subject. Students will however, be reviewing concepts they have learned through completing Thanksgiving activities. This includes reading comprehension, sequencing, reading for information and recording on bar graphs as well as practicing math facts and using a multiplication table to complete a graph. We will continue to focus on our prayer life and all of the wonderful gifts God has given us for which we need to be thankful. Our classes continue to use the FASTT Math computer program, flash cards and Holey Cards to drill basic facts every day. We will be starting multiplication before long. It is critical to your child's academic success that you practice basic math facts with him/her every night. The mastery of these skills will be included in your child's math grade. Students will be given timed tests on basic addition and subtraction math facts. If available, please send in the addition and subtraction flash cards students have previously used. Our all school Mass of Thanksgiving will be Tuesday, November 24, at 8:30. All are welcome and encouraged to join us. Please continue to check the website. The calendar page will keep you updated on events that are planned for the class. Check your teacher's "Last Minute Notes" often for any updates or changes in the schedule. It is very important that you sign or initial your child's agenda every night. This is the best way to keep up with homework assignments and communicate with your child's teacher. Please feel free to contact us with any questions, concerns, comments, or suggestions. Have a great week and a Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving:) God Bless All Safety Alert If you park in the Linwood lot, please keep our children safe by driving cautiously and following all drop-off and parking procedures. If you park in the Woodward lot, drive slowly and cautiously. Do not attempt to “drop-off” your child near the door. You must park in a designated parking place and walk your child to the area that has been marked off by the orange cones. The entire Shrine community appreciates your cooperation in keeping all of us safe. Please continue to check your teacher's Last Minute Notes often for any updates or changes in our schedule.
