Angela Burton
Angela Burton begins her third year teaching Language Arts at St. Francis School, after ten successful years as an adjunct professor teaching English Composition and Creative Writing at Indiana University Southeast and the University of Louisville.
Burton graduated with a B.A. in English from the University of Louisville in 1989, and then subsequently earned her M.F.A. in Writing from Vermont College in 1992, where she completed a collection of short stories for her creative thesis and honed her skills as a teacher of writing.
She grew up in Bardstown, Kentucky, the youngest of seven in a family that creates music, art and quilts. She now lives in Louisville with her two wonderful children, Cooper and Lucia, both of whom found their feet at St. Francis School and have not lost step since.
Burton has a weakness for perennial gardening, Southern cooking, babies and Labrador Retrievers. She adores reading, writing short fiction and digging in the dirt. She counts her blessings every day and never forgets to laugh.
