WARNING: Do not look into laser with remaining good eye! 


So you've signed up for AP Physics C and you've found my website. Here's what you should know to mentally prepare yourself for the year.


First, I will be upfront about this: I am a slave driver! My expectations for myself and my students are high. We have a long way to go and a short time to get there, so I ask 100% from you every day. There are no "free days." Ask and you will get my usual reply: "Every day is free. I never charge!"

Second, I love to have fun! I think physics is the coolest thing ever!! I hope to show you just the tip of the ice berg that is physics this year. In physics 1, you acquired some basic tools that are useful in modelling the world around you. This year you will refine those tools, make connections between ideas, and REALLY learn to solve complex, real-world problems. You will have moments of exhillaration and of despair. To experience the thrill of success, one has to taste the bitterness of failure. This is a flavor that many of you have never tasted. Do not worry about your GPA. If you do what I ask of you, it will take care of itself. I want you to concern yourself with learning and thinking.

And at last, please know that I am absolutely approachable. If you have questions, concerns, or would like to make a comment about things that go on in or out of class, please feel free to talk to me about it. I want this to be a year that we will never forget!
