If you've found your way here, you must have too much free time on your hands. Here you'll see the thoughts of a not-so-exciting blogger. Look to see thoughts about physics as well as maybe my hobbies and life as a mom. No, I do not live at school! :0) Physics is everywhere, and so am I.

Life, the Universe, and Everything Physics
Just what it says!

November 27, 2007
Exciting news came out today from researchers at Texas A&M's Mitchell Institute for Fundamental Physics in the ESSENCE project that Einstein's "biggest blunder", the cosmological constant, could be the explanation to the dark energy mystery that has been plaguing physicists since the discovery of the galactic rotation curve problem. The following story was posted on physorg.com today.

Researchers examine Einstein's theories on the universe from PhysOrg.com
Einstein's self-proclaimed "biggest blunder" -- his postulation of a cosmological constant (a force that opposes gravity and keeps the universe from collapsing) -- may not be such a blunder after all, according to the research of an international team of scientists that includes two Texas A&M University researchers.

This will be the topic of discussion at this week's physics club meeting. Be there or be square!

Well, I sheepishly admit to being a bit snowed under here lately with "other" stuff in life. I am hereby turning over a new leaf and promise to do a better job of keeping my online calendar up to date. Really!! :0)

No time to read much more than physorg.com these days, but if I didn't knit, I would probably be ready for a nice padded cell! I've finished a lacy red cardigan (mainly knitted during football games) and I am about to finish a Mary Poppins-style carpet bag to carry my works-in-progress. I have a lovely skein of silk yarn that I'm searching for a pattern to use with it. Sadly I could only afford 1 skein, so it will have to be a small project. I'm thinking shawl or scarf. We shall see!

Live long, and prosper! LA

To everything (turn, turn, turn...) there is a season.... I so seldomly have time to play at the computer anymore. I am taking some time to play with some upgraded features of my website. I spent 5 hours today grading lab notebooks, and there were only 34 of them! Yikes! I really hate the end of the six weeks time crunch.

I guess I now can take some time to knit and not feel guilty for not grading something. Knitting is pure therapy for me when I'm stressed. Everyone should find such a healthy release. Speaking of which... I'm off to knit myself to sleep!
