Welcome to Our Classroom! Class of 2009-2010

Hi, My name is Mrs. Shell and I will be your second grade teacher.  I am excited for the school year to get started!  We have a lot of fun, interesting projects during the year including:

* learning how to be good readers;
* Readers' Theater performances;
* writing in journals and using the Six-Traits of Writing;
* Social Studies units about U.S. History, Government, Types of       
  Communities, Native Americans, Landforms, and Careers;
* Science units about Rocks and Soil; Paleontologists; Forces and
   Motion, Sound, and Forms of Matter;
 * Math units about addition, subtraction, graphing; 2- and 3-digit
   addition and subtraction with regrouping, fractions, and geometry; 
* learning Cursive Handwriting; and
* learning how to use our SMART Board!!
