1. Kindergarten Math Topics:
 (homework and small groups)

Number Sense

  • Compare sets of objects and identify which is equal to, more than, or less than the other
  • Count by 1’s, 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s
  • Recognize numerals 0 - 100 (out of order)
  • Add and subtract two numbers (less than 10)

 

Algebra and Functions

  • Sort, identify, and describe objects by attributes (shape, color, and size)

 

Measurement and Geometry

  • Compare length, weight, and capacity of objects
  • Understand the concept of time
  • Name the days of the week
  • Identify time to the nearest hour of common everyday events
  • Identify and name shapes (circle, square, triangle, rectangle, sphere, cube, cone, and cylinder)

 

Mathematical Reasoning

  • Use manipulatives to set up, solve, and explain problems
  • Communicate how problems are solved

 

Statistics, Data Analysis, and Probability

  • Identify, describe, and extend simple patterns
  • Collect information about objects and events in their environment
