Homework Policy Homework Policy

Homework is very rarely assigned in my Language Arts Classes.

We will be working in 90 minute blocks this year, so we should have ample time to do most of our work in class.

Students will also have an ICU time in which to complete missing work twice per month.

Later on in the year, students may have research papers or projects that will require them to do some work outside of class.

Vocabulary Tests

****Students will have a vocabulary test each Friday.  Words will added to the list each day and discussed.  Students are required to write sentences with each vocabulary word for their Friday Quizzes.   See vocabulary page for weekly words.

Book Reports

*****Students will have one book report due each six weeks period. This report will be due around the fifth week of the six weeks period.  They will be given some time in class to read and are required to bring their book to class every day!!  I will give them the exact due date at the beginning of each six weeks.  I know that some students do not have a library period.  It is still their responsibility to have a book report book. They may bring something from home, visit the public library, check out one from the classroom library, use a Kindle or Ipad.  Since they will know about this assignment approximately 5 weeks ahead of time, it is expected to be turned in on time.

Class Notes

Students will not have notes every day, but I will post them on days that we do have them in class.  Also any powerpoints programs will be posted.
