Language Arts

In Language Arts this week:

Monday:  We learned the letter Aa and recited the nursery rhyme Jack and Jill.  We talked about names and rhyming words.

Tuesday:  We learned the letter Bb and recited the nursery rhyme One, Two, Three, Four, Five.  We learned to distinguish between numbers and letters and we learned about blending syllables.  

Wednesday:  We learned the letter Cc and recited a clapping rhyme called Pease Porridge Hot.  We also reviewed rhyming words.

Thursday:  We learned the letter Dd and recited a poem called Colors.  We learned about environmental print and practiced blending syllables. 

Friday:  We learned the letter Ee and recited the nursery rhyme To Market, To Market.  We practiced blending syllables.  

*Ask your child to recite some of these poems to you.  Ask them how many word parts are in certain words.  Ask them to show you how they print the first five letters of the alphabet.
