Homework
1. Read for 15 minutes or more each night.
2. Practice all sight words that were introduced at school. Make flashcards for each new word and review every evening. Skim for sight words that we have learned in the books that you read each night and practice retelling stories.
3. Poems will be sent home. Please read with your child!
4. Complete the mystery word worksheet. This week’s word has to do with math.
5. SPELLING: This is our first spelling test. Every week we will have 10 words. 5 of these will be sight words and the other five will be from two word families. Please study the sight words with your child and practicing sound spelling and rhyming the word families. Your child will not know the exact words that they will be given from the word family (i.e. flat, mat, dad etc) I will also give them a sentence for dictation.

Challenge Words: These are optional. Your child can study the challenge words for extra points. Please be sure they have mastered all of the sight words and rhyming words.

6. Math: Workbook pages 43 and 44. Also, keep studying doubles facts and have your child tell me if they are interested in doubles club.
