Students will come to the media center each Friday from one of their core classes.  This is done on a rotating basis so that too much time is not taken from any one core class.  During these session students will learn basic computer skills including how to use Microsoft Office programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Access.  

Students will complete a typing program to help them learn the technique of touch typing or typing without looking at the keys.  Parents will receive feedback on their child's speed and accuracy at the beginning and again at the end of the school year.   

The eighth grade will take the NC Test of Computer Skills at the end of third quarter. 

Also middle school students will come to the media center for project based instruction related to their class studies.  They will complete research projects and receive instruction on various software programs.
