Congratulations to the Class of 2009!

Thank you for your generosity, the cards and gifts were unexpected.

Have a safe and blessed summer.

  Summer Website Maintenance

Over the course of the summer, you will see pages come and go as I update my site for the 2009-2010 school year.  Students in my Living Environment Class should start checking between the end of July and the first week of August as I will be assigning some summer HW for students in the course.  Around that time, I will also be posting some extra credit opportunities for those of you who would like to get a jump start on the new year.  Students in any of my classes (grades 6-8) are eligible to complete the extra credit.  Enjoy your summer, see you in the fall.

  A notice about school supplies

I know that many of you purchase your school supplies at various times throughout the summer so I wanted to clarify on a couple of items from the supply list that are specific to science:

Pocket Folders - ALL students will need four pocket folders.  For my class, they do not need to have the prongs nor do they need to be fancy or expensive.  I also discourage the purchase of plastic folders.  These particular folders remain in a box in the classroom and therefore do not need to be heavy duty.

Marble Composition Notebooks - ALL students will need ONE marble composition notebook for science.

Binders - ALL students will need ONE three-ring binder for science.  We empty them at the end of each quarter so I would recommend buying a 1/2" to 1" size.  Students in the Living Environment will want to purchase the larger size.

Glue Sticks - These did not make the supply list, but I do use glue sticks throughout the year.  Please purchase a package for use in science.

Colored Pencils - I do expect ALL students to bring colored pencils to class.  These are used across multiple classes throughout the year, but seem to be the item most often missing.

I typically stock up on these items when they go on sale and have them available for purchase in my room.  Usually, for about $3 you can get everything on my list except the binder.  As I pick up supplies, I will put together back to school kits and post the number available for purchase. They will be sold on a first come, first serve basis.  Please e-mail if you have any questions.
