Religion Class Rules
The 6 rules of class

THE SIX CLASS RULES:

RULE 1- Respect God.   Honor God’s name and be reverent during class prayers.

·  Be quiet and respectful during prayers, including spiritual showcase.

·  Be respectful around the prayer board.

RULE 2- Respect the class.  Be involved in class discussions, but talk at appropriate times.

·  Class runs much more smoothly when it is quiet.

·  There are many times when you must be quiet.  Do not talk during these times.

·  Raise your hand if you have something to say.  Do not call out.

RULE 3- Respect yourself.  Control and channel your energy.  Don’t let it control you.

·  Do not run before class.

·  Use your God-given energy to help you and everyone else learn.

RULE 4- Respect Mr. Rickbeil.  Listen to him, be polite, and obey his requests.

·  Mr. Rickbeil is your teacher, not your friend.

·  Be polite and courteous to him. Respect his decisions, even if you disagree.

·  Listen attentively to his teaching.  He is here to help you succeed.

·  If you have a disagreement, talk to him at the appropriate time after class.

RULE 5- Respect each other.  Be patient and positive with your classmates.  Listen to them.

·  You must show LOVE to everyone- even if you don’t LIKE them.

·  No put-downs are allowed, even if you claim to be “joking”.

·  Work in groups, and value everyone’s opinions.

RULE 6- Respect language.  Use only G-rated class language.  Use appropriate language.

·  Use positive language during class.

·  You may not use curse words, or anything CLOSE to a curse word.

WHAT IF YOU BREAK A RULE?

First Time:  Warning

·  Mr. Rickbeil calls your name tells you to stop.

Second Time:  Yellow Card

·  Mr. Rickbeil calls your name and says “yellow card”

·  Take a couple of minutes to fill out a yellow card sheet at the back of the classroom.

·  One yellow card isn’t a big deal.  Many yellow cards are a big deal.

Third Time:  Red Card and point slip

·  Go to the back of the classroom to fill out a red card sheet.

·  Fill out your name and the day on a point slip.  You will receive points.

·  See Mr. Rickbeil after class to receive your point slip.

Automatic Yellow Cards

·  Serious violations of minor rules may make you earn a yellow card without a warning

Automatic Red Cards

·  Swearing

·  Copying answers on homework

·  Cheating on a test

·  Very disrespectful behavior

·  Causing physical harm to another student.

·  Writing in your desk

·  Writing or showing anything inappropriate in class.

Automatic Point Slips

·  Chewing gum (1 point)

OTHER RULES TO KNOW

Honesty and your homework

·  You are allowed to work with partners on yellow homework.  On all other assignments, you must do your own work.

·  If you are stuck, you can ask a classmate for help, but help doesn’t mean you give them answers.

·  If you are found copying, you receive 2 points and the person who you copied from will receive 1 point- NO EXCEPTIONS!

·  If you are in doubt, ask Mr. Rickbeil ahead of time for help or if something is ok.

Saying God’s name in vain

·  It’s a bad habit you must break

·  Pay Mr. Rickbeil 25 cents each time it happens.

·  The money collected will go to a charitable cause.

Wearing your uniforms

·  Believe it or not, uniforms are a VERY GOOD thing.

·  Wear your uniform correctly as an example to younger students.

·  I will patiently remind you for occasional uniform violations.

·  You will receive points (1 per time) for excessive violations.

·  Ladies, no make-up.  You are beautiful the way God made you, without make-up!
