Project Instructions

Follow the instructions to create your part in the seventh grade stations of the cross.  You may choose to create a station, or to create artwork for several stations.

STEP

1

Choose your station

We will complete this in class.

STEP

2

Research, Take Notes, and Track Sources

Research your station.  Use the note sheets in your packet to keep track of facts that happen in your station, and the sources you use.  All of the sources that you use MUST be cited in your Bibliography, or you are plagiarizing their materials. For good web sites to use, check the links below.

3

Choose a prayer intention

Now that you know about your station, choose something to pray for.  Make sure that you are praying for something specific, and that your intention relates to your station.  If you need help on what to pray for, feel free to ask Mr. Rickbeil for advice.

Download your template

Download one of the two templates listed below.  One is in Microsoft Word 2007 form, the other is in Microsoft Word 2003 form.  As you download your template, save it to your flash drive.

Design your station

It is important to follow all of the steps for this part of your station, or you may lose points for not conforming your station to fit the stations designed by the rest of the class.  To be sure that you complete all directions, be sure to follow these step-by-step.

1.         Change the number (it will look like a big N) at the top of the station and the name of the station to match what your station actually is.  For instance, if you are the first station, type a “1” instead of the “N”.  You may play with the Wordart and change the font if you wish.

2.      Type the name of your station in the box to the right of the number box, replacing the “Name of the Station” that is there.  Just type the name of your station in whichever font you wish.

3.      Write your first paragraph in the table box below.  You must write one paragraph (using 5 sentences or more) on what is happens to Jesus at this station of the cross.  Use your research to complete these sentences, using your best spelling and grammar .

4.      Write your second paragraph in the table box immediately below your first paragraph.  This paragraph will also be 5 or more sentences.  In this paragraph, make connections between what is happening to Jesus and the prayer intention that you chose to pray for.  This may be a challenge, but do the best you can to connect your prayer with your station.

5.      In the black text box that says “Pray for your prayer intention here”, type your prayer intention in.  For instance, it may say “Pray for those who are suffering with cancer” or “Pray for those who have nobody to pray for them”.

6.      Create your prayer for the intention you chose.  Your prayer may be a paragraph that is 5 or more sentences long, or a poem that you may write.  Your prayer will be spoken by the entire class, so everything after the words “Let us pray” must be in bold face font.  The beginning of your prayer will say “Let us pray is regular (not bold-face) font, and must end with “Amen” after your last sentence.

STEP

6

Create your bibliography

Use the Citation machine links below to complete your Bibliography.  Remember that your sources must be listed in alphabetical order.  In addition, remember that your first line is not indented, but that all additional lines are indented.  You must include all sources that you used. Type your bibliography on your second page, as you will turn both pages in when your project is due.

7

Revise your work

Check off your checklist in your packet to make sure that your work looks good, as you will lose points for spelling and grammar mistakes.  If you follow all of the steps, your project should be in excellent condition.

STEP

8

Print or e-mail your work

Once your project is done, you may choose to either print your project out or e-mail it to Mr. Rickbeil at krickbeil@trinityschoolmd.org .  If you e-mail your work to Mr. Rickbeil, make sure that he receives it.  You may wish to save your project on your flash drive just in case.  Now, you are DONE!
