Each year I am suprised at the number of students who do not have library cards to visit the public library. This is a great, FREE way to access a variety of books! I bet your child will need to visit the library this year to find books for reading homework, genre studies, state research, etc. Why not get him/her their very own library card? Just visit the Mamie Doud Eisenhower Public Library website to get started. Did you know that if your local branch doesn't have the book(s) you need, they will transfer it from another branch for you? You can even reserve your books now, and pick them up later! Our public library also has great reading incentive programs and book clubs to join. One cool feature of our public library is the free storyline. You and your family can call it every week to hear a new story over the phone. What are you waiting for? Visit the library.
