Jim MacLaren is an inspiration for all

Jim MacClaren is an inspiration for all of us.
Last week I had one of those days where everything runs late. It was after 2:00 pm when I saw ten minutes of white space on my calendar to dart out for a take-out salad before my next work obligation.

The car radio was set to 1280 (Jim Rome show) and as luck or fate would have it, I caught one of the most truly inspiring speakers I've ever heard. I sat in my car knowing my manager would probably send a verbal barb for dialing into our conference call twenty-five minutes late, but couldn't pull myself away from the radio. Jim MacLaren was a Ivy League football player who suffered a horrific accident when his motorcycle was struck by a bus in NYC. He was pronounced dead at the scene, but somehow survived, and went on to compete in Iron Man competitions with prostetic leg. In a race in CA, a van somehow entered the closed track and struck Jim during his bicycle segment. This second devastading accident left Jim a quadriplegic. As you'll see, Jim's faith and ability to continously reinvent himself make him a role model for all of us.

You can see check out this unbelievable story from Jim himself on a video clip from his website. http://www.jimmaclaren.com/home.htm
