Character Development

Fifth graders will build their character through the Fruits of the Spirit.  We will be putting together a travel guide that will help us reflect on and live the Fruits of the Spirit in our lives.  Check back for an update on what we did each month.

Goodness/Generosity    Faithfulness    Gentleness

Be Fruitful In All You Do!

November- During the month of November we are practicing the fruit of Kindness.  Students are showing kindness in the classroom by writing kind notes to each other in mailbox bags.  In addition students are teaching their families about kindness by catching kind acts at home.  Kindness can spread when we spread it.

October- During the month of October we are practicing the fruit of self-control.  Students learned that Peter had moments that were out of control and moments that showed self-control.  On their travels this month students are encouraged to show self-control in school, at home, and in their community.  Students created a comic strip showing how different ways to have self-control as the souvenir for this part of their trip.

September - During the month of September we have been practicing the fruit of patience.  Students reflected in their travel journals about where they would like to work on the their patience.  Students also filled in a souvenir box with items that they would buy on a trip to remind them about patience.
