Library materials are checked out for 3 days at a time. At each library visit, students may check out books as follows:
- 1st graders check out 1 fiction or nonfiction book per visit.
- 2nd graders may check out 2 books/magazines per visit.
- 3rd graders may check out 3 books/magazines per visit.
- 4th graders may check out 4 books/magazines per visit.
- 5th graders may check out 5 books/magazines per visit.
Items may be renewed as needed unless there is a waiting list for a specific book. - If students have an overdue book(s), will still be allowed to checkout one book, but need to keep it in their classroom so they ALWAYS have a book or magazine to read. Reading is so important we do not want them to have any reasons to not be able to read!
We encourage students beginning at first grade to select one book they can read with little or no assistance. Self Managers may check out one more book than the usual number at their grade level.
Reference books may be checked out to the classroom, but are not to be taken home.
Library Mission: To ensure that all students and staff are effective users of information and ideas.
