Internet Use

K-8 Internet Acceptable Use Agreement / K-8 Acceptable Use Guidelines / Critical Evaluation of Web Site-Elementary Level / Internet Site Evaluation / Internet Search Request

Student use of the Internet begins with each student and his/her parents/guardians reading the K-8 Acceptable Use Guidelines and signing the K-8 Internet Acceptable Use Agreement. A copy of the signed form must be returned to the student's teacher.

Students use the

Internet under teacher/staff supervision and are taught to evaluate web sites as they would any resource to access the accuracy, reliability, usefulness and value of the information. Lessons on use and evaluation of resources found on the Internet, begin in 4th grade. Students are asked to use either the Critical Evaluation of Web Site-Elementary Level or the Internet Site Evaluation.

Students coming to the library to access the Internet are asked to complete the Internet Search Request to verify they are using the Internet with parent and teacher approval.
