WELCOME to Belfair Elementary Library and the 2008-09 school year. Each class, in grades 1-5, visit the Library every 3 school days. Preschoolers and Kindergarteners visit the library two times each month. Ms. Mensinger is available to help students find books, answer questions and research topics they are interested in.
If, by chance, you discovered any library books at home, please return the books to the Library soon. We DO NOT charge fines - we accept returned books any time!
Library and technology lessons focus on guiding students to become more confident & independent library users and researchers. Each year 4th-6th graders are invited to read selections nominated for the Sasquatch Reading Award and/or the Young Reader's Choice Award. K-3 teachers read the 20 titles nominated for the Washington Children's Choice Picture Book Award to sstudents. Book award voting takes place in March each year!

The role of the Belfair Elem. Library is to:
--provide materials written on many different reading levels for our students and staff
--provide materials on many topics of interest for our students and staff
--provide magazines, atlases and reference books, such as encyclopedias, to help increase the understanding of curriculum and other topics for our students and staff
--provide access to electronic databases to increasing the understanding of curriculum and other topics for our students and staff
--provide a wide variety of perspectives on a variety of topics for our students and staff
--provide instruction and support to ensure that students and staff become effective users of information and ideas.
