Moving Ahead in 2012!
Academic Intervention Service is available to students in Kindergarten through Sixth Grade, who are at risk of not meeting New York State and Diocese of Rochester Standards. Service is generally delivered using the push-in model, which means AIS teacher assisting students right in their classrooms, during regular nstructional time. Occasionally, students meet with the AIS coordinator indivdually or in small groups in the Learning Center. Placement and programming is dependent upon teacher recommendation, diagnostic testing, and student performance in the New York State testing program.
About the Teacher...
My husband Larry and I live in the Chili area. We have two grown daughters. Our older daughter lives and works in Buffalo. Our younger daughter lives in the Chirchville area and is a teacher in the Social Studies Department at Churchville Chili Senior High School. I earned my Bachelors Degree at the University of Dayton and my masters at SUNY Brockport.
I began my teaching career at Saint John's School in Greece. I also taught for aeveral years at Saint Rita's School. I have been here at Saint PIus Tenth for 33 years now. I taught second grade, then kindergarten, then first grade and then moved to the Remedial Reading position. This is my seventh year as AIS Coordinator . I thoroughly enjoy teaching and count myself blessed to work here at Saint Pius Tenth.
