We have been having so much fun learning about the Civil War in Social Studies. We have learned about the leaders of the War including Abraham Lincoln, Jefferson Davis, General Grant and Robert E. Lee. Next week we begin discussing some of the major battles.
In Language Arts, our Folktales and Fairytales unit continues to be a lot of fun. We have read Henny Penny, The Shoemaker and the Elves, and Jack and the Beanstalk. We are also reading a chapter book. Mummies in the Morning is a fictional book that takes the children back to ancient Egypt. Each chapter gets more exciting than the previous one.
Math is moving along nicely. We are on Chapter 30 in the book. Multiplication and division has been very fun to learn about. We will be reviewing and taking the chapter test on Monday. After that we will be reviewing everything that we have learned this year because we will be finished with the book!
I have had such a great time teaching your children and watching them grow throughout the year. Thank you for sharing them with me!

Thank you, parents for coming to see our second grade program and staying for the reception. It was great to see each of you!

Here you will find all sorts of information about what is going on in our class this year. I am really excited to be able to bring this to you!
Feel free to take a look around. The site is still under construction, so please be patient.
A link can be found where you can place book club orders online, and you can post events on the calendar that you want the class to know about. Email me if you want the passwords.
