Jog-A-Thon Money This Wednesday we had our annual Jog-A-Thon to raise money for our school! The kids did such a great job!! Some of our students ran 3 miles (18 laps) or more!! Incredible! December 5th is the deadline for all Jog-A-Thon money to be returned. I will post pictures of this fun day very soon! YEEEHHHAAAW! Great news!! Hearst is having a western B-BQ on Thursday, November 20 at 12:00pm!! Hamburgers and hot dogs will be barbecued - drinks and chips are also available. Parents are welcome to come and eat with their children. A flier went home earlier this week, which should provide a little more information. Please return the bottom portion of the flier if you'd like to attend. Make Up Picture Day - December 3rd Wednesday, December 3rd is picture make up day. Make up pictures will be taken for students who were absent during the first picture day and for those who were unhappy with the way the 1st set of photos turned out. There will be lots of cool books, posters, games, kits, etc. --they make great gifts for the holidays!! Stop by and check it out! This year, a few special events are planned in conjunction with the book fair! All events listed below will be held in our school library: -
Wed., 12/3 is Family Night from 6-8pm Kids can wear their jammies, listen to a story, and families can shop for great books and holiday gifts. -
Thursday, 12/4 is Invite a Family Member to Lunch Day (our lunch time is 12:00pm to 12:40) Kids may invite a family member for lunch and then hit the book fair together! What a special day! -
Friday, 12/5 is Parent Pastry Day from 8-10am Parents can get a little holiday shopping done by visiting the book fair while their children are at school. Enjoy pastries and coffee while you shop! Parent/Teacher Conferences Letters went home earlier this week regarding parent/teacher conferences. Please let me know if you did not receive yours. Conferences will be held Monday, Dec. 8 to Friday, December 12. We will have early dismissal (12:15pm) on each of those days. In case you should forget the time or day of your conference, I will post the conference schedule on our website once I've received everyone's confirmation. I look forward to meeting with each of you soon so that I may brag about the accomplishments of your child so far this year!
Winter Concert Our music teacher, Mrs. Slavic, has worked very hard with our whole school in order to prepare them with wonderful songs to share with everyone! A special one night concert will be held on Wednesday, December 10th at 6:45 at Lewis Middle School. Please come and enjoy your child's special musical talent! We hope to see you then! If you'd like to practice the lyrics at home, just click HERE! (A special thank you to Mrs. McNeil for typing up all of the lyrics!!) HELP! Our class is in desperate need of ink cartridges for our printer! Our printer is a real ink guzzler! If you're able to make an ink donation, it takes HP 92 and 93 cartridges. If you're upgrading your current printer, perhaps we could have your old one? Maybe an older model wouldn't run through ink so fast. Any ideas? Author of the Month Our Author of the Month is Margie Palatini. Margie has written many funny books including, Piggie Pie, Sweet Tooth, Moosestache, The Napping House, and many more. To learn more about this wonderful author and illustrator, click on the "Author of the Month" tab in the main menu or click HERE!
