 Here's what we'll be learning during this unit.

3.1 Learning to identify and extend patterns

3.2 Learning about odd and even numbers

3.3 Using the number grid to identify number patterns such as counting by 2's,3's and 5's. We call it hopping on the number grid

3.4 Explorations

3.5 Counting on the number grid

ex. Start at 0. Count up 12 hops.Then count back 7 hops. Where do you land? At 5

Number grids will be sent home for you to keep.

3.6 Adding and subtracting on the Number line.  Very similar to the number grid.

3.7 Telling Time to the half hour

3.8 and 3.9  Frames and Arrows

3.10 Counting using a calulator

3.11 Dimes

3.12 Counting Dimes, Nickels and Pennies

3.13 Data Day Using a line plot

3.14 Domino Addition to practice basic addition facts

After this lesson we will beginning review for the test.

As you can see it is very important that you child have a good number sense. Continue to practice counting by 1's, 2's, 5's and 10's. start at different numbers and have them continue the pattern. ex. 35,40,45...
