Career Profiles Project We will now explore a Career specific to one of the 16 Career Clusters; a description of which there is located in the following link: http://www.texascaresonline.com/clusters/clusters.asp. We've used this site before so moving through it to prepare the next presentation should be simple. Requirements. 1. Choose someone you know; family, friends or other community members that have a job you find interesting and we will then create a career profile/comparison project with them and their career path as the focus. 2. They do not have to hold a degree but must be successful in their chosen fields and willing to answer a set of questions for you. 3. Spend Tuesday looking through the different Career Clusters and thinking of someone you know that fits into the Cluster you have chosen. 4. Then CREATE A SURVEY: a list of 10-20 questions that you want answered to help you complete this project. 5. Examples of questions would be: a. What was the title of your entry level position that began your career. b. What kind of degree(s), licenses or special training certificates does your job require. c. How many hours of work/college hours did your degree/license require. d. 6. We will then make a trip to the library, an online library and use other sources to find what is required for these jobs today. MORE COMING as we work through this project.
Completed project will have compiled on a poster board for easy reading to be hung in the hallway. A. A picture of the person you are profiling B. Examples of their daily work C. A list of college/licensing requirements D. Examples of uniforms or tools of their trades.
