Monthly Curriculum

February Curriculum: Religion- Always remember that: "God is good, all the time. All the time, God is good." "Let there be peace on Earth, and let it begin with me." Please practice making the Sign of the Cross. Please practice "The Our Father."
We begin each day with a prayer and a Bible story. 27 - Saint Valentine 13 - Jesus Has Many Friends 14 - We Belong to the Catholic Church Lent/Easter
Our Lunch Prayer: God is gracious. God is good. Let us thank Him for our food. By His love, we all are fed. Give us Lord, our daily bread. Amen. Our Snack Prayer: Thank you God, for the food we eat. Vegetables, fruit, milk and meat. Food tastes good and helps me grow. From my head down to my toes. Thank you God, for helping me grow. Amen. We will say the following prayers throughout the school year: The Sign of the Cross, The Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be, The Guardian Angel Prayer.
Math- Math is fun! We will begin each day with our "Morning Meeting" where we will practice the following routines: 1-Number of the Day 2-Attendance 3-Job Chart 4-Calendar 5-Daily Schedule 6-Weather Observation 7-Record Daily Temperature 8-Daily Survey Question Unit Five: 7- How Big is a Foot? 8- Count by 5's 9- Introduction of Tally Marks 10- The Raft Game 11- Standard and Nonstandard Feet 12- Tools for Measuring Length 13- Pet Bar Graph 14- Attribute Spinner Game 15- Introduction to the Number Grid 16- Number Grid Search Game
Science- Unit Two: Motions and Forces. We will be using ramps and making pendulums to paint with. What is winter? What is the weather like? What are the animals doing now? We will talk about dental health and being "heart healthy."
Social Studies - We will talk about the Presidents and where we can find them: money, newspaper, television, books,...
