MRS. JONES' WEBFOLIO FOR LMS » Educational Philosophy
Educational Philosophy
Educational Philosophy · Maintain an environment that is conducive to learning. · Learners should be empowered. There should be collaboration between students and educators. · Standards serve as a map to an educational destination, but students have the right to choose another path to the same destination. · Literacy, Reading Comprehension, and Writing are priority. Without these skills everything else will fail. · Set high achievement standards. Students are capable of greatness. · Without choice, life is bland. When students don’t have choices, they use the same adjective regarding your teaching. · Some students need a hand in reaching for the stars. It is our job to lend them ours. · Open minds open up opportunities. · Set a good example. Students model what they see. · Our priorities are not always those of our students. · Exploration is the basis for all major discoveries. · Respect the minds, bodies, and property of others. Children are little people. · Develop partnerships with students, parents, peers, staff, administration, and community. “It takes a village to raise a child.” · Never be too proud to learn from a child. All teachers were once children. · Continued education promotes growth of character and craft. · Remain flexible. It will keep you from breaking. · Maintain integrity. Hold your “truths to be self-evident.” · Everything has a place. Creativity, diversity, and personality belong in education. Appeal to multiple intelligences. · Greet each day and each person with a smile. If you are smiling at the beginning of the day, you are twice as likely to be smiling at the end.
