||Monthly Reading Logs
As part of our kindergarten homework, please read with your child every day! Reading aloud to your child is the single most important activity a parent can do to help their child succeed in school! While you are reading, point out the author and illustrator. Look closely at the pictures and make predictions about the story. Stop reading to ask questions about the content of the story to strengthen comprehension. If your child can read, take turns reading aloud. You are a model of fluency for your child. For emergent readers, point out letters, practice letter sounds, and identify familiar words. Most importantly, make reading fun!
Kindergarten children will have monthly reading logs to complete. So gather your child, grab a good book, and get reading! Share this wonderful experience with your child.

*Please note that March is Reading Month. Due to the numerous school-wide reading activities the children participate in throughout the month, no reading log is given in March.
