Video Interview with Joan Bauer
Joan Bauer is a young adult novelist who uses humor and hope to write about challenging topics such as alcoholism, leukemia, and fear. "Let's just be real with each other," she says. "Adversity, if we let it, can absolutely make us stronger." Bauer's energy, approach, and true-to-life characters have resonated with adolescents across the United States and around the world. She is the author of Rules of the Road, Stand Tall, and Hope Was Here. Bauer's latest novel, Peeled, is the story of a young high school newspaper reporter who sifts through town rumor and fear mongering in search of the truth.
