Unit 3 Learning Goals

    Solve Frames-and-Arrows problems having two rules

               

        Make change with money

              I bought an apple for 18 cents.  I paid with a quarter.  What will my change be?   (Students can count up from 18 to get 25)

               

        Know more difficult subtraction facts

 

        Tell time to 5-minute intervals

 

        Identify place value in 2-digit and 3-digit numbers

 

        Show P, N, D, Q for a given amount

 

        Know all addition facts

 

        Know easy subtraction facts

Unit 2 Learning Goals

Students will be working with “harder” subtraction facts.

Students will work with “harder” addition facts

Students will be able to find the answer to “What’s My Rule?” by using a function machine.

Students will be able to solve simple subtraction number stories along with easier addition stories.

Mark saw 3 bats.

Jeff saw 4 bats.

How many bats did they see in all?

3+4=7 bats

Katie had 8 gummy bears.

Lilly had 4 gummy bears.

How many more gummy bears does Katie have?

Students will construct fact families for addition and subtraction.

7+2 = 9      9-2= 7

2+7 = 9      9-7= 2

Students will be able to complete simple Frames-and-Arrows diagrams.

Students will be able to find equivalent names for numbers

 

Unit 1 Learning Goals

1.  Students will be able to find values of coin and bill combinations.

2.  Students will know "easy" addition facts (sums of 10).

3.  Students will be able to identify place value of ones, tens, and hundreds.

4.  Students will be able to complete number sequences; identify and use number patterns to solve problems.

5.  Students will be able to find equivalent names for numbers.

6.  Students will be able to compare numbers; write the symbol <,>, or =.

7.  Students will be able to count by 2s, 5s, and 10s.

8.  Students will make tallies and give the total.

Remember that Home Links are a great reinforcement tool for you and your child to do at home. The Home Links will begin the second or third week of school.
