Ferndale Schools will pay up to $668.92 per course for at most 5 courses a semester for a full time student. The student is responsible for fees and tuition costs over this amount.
ACADEMIC DUAL ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS:
1. University courses or virtual learning classes must be academic in nature.
2. University courses cannot be the same as courses offered at Ferndale High School
(unless for a scheduling conflict)
3. A student can enroll in college or virtual learning courses that are in content areas for
which he/she has either earned a minimum score on the PSAT or PLAN test (see
below) or has reached a performance level 1 or 2 in the related content area. If a student registers for a college course prior to the receipt of the MME, PLAN or PSAT scores and then does not earn the needed endorsement, the student will be responsible for reimbursing the school district for the amount paid.

4. A student can enroll in non-content areas such as foreign language, computer
science, philosophy, sociology, religion, psychology, and anthropology if he/she has
taken all of the MME tests.
5. A student must have earned a minimum of eleven credits.
6. A student must have passed all of his/her classes in the previous semester.
7. Virtual learning classes can only be taken through the Michigan Virtual High School.
The student must find a FHS certified teacher in the related content area to be
his/her on-site mentor.
