Please consider this application my request to graduate early. I am aware that early graduation is available only to:

The student that has met or will meet the Ferndale School District requirements for a diploma by the end of first semester of his/her senior year. (Transcript will serve as proof).

The student has shown proficiency on the Michigan Assessment Education Program (MEAP) on all tests. (Transcript will serve as proof).

h Reading/Writing

h Science

h Social Studies

A typewritten letter from the student describing how the early release from school for second semester will be used to further his/her education.

Two letters of recommendation from teacher that endorse your application.

A letter from your parent(s) endorsing your request to graduate early.

A cover letter from your counselor, which supports your request and organizes, items 1-5.

It must be noted that the above documentation (Items 1-6) must be received in the Principal's office not later than the second Friday in November. Failure to meet this deadline will be cause for denial of the request. Students and parents should be aware that early graduation may render students ineligible for some scholarships and special honors that require eight (8) full semesters of attendance.
