Remember that the new school policy is that you are late and will recieve a late pass if you enter school after 8:15.
If you are planning on sending in cupcakes for your child's birthday please speak to me about it so we can plan accordingly.
Water bottles are no longer allowed in the classrooms. The children will be brought to the water fountains once in the morning and again after recess.
Remember for safety reasons, if you come to school to pick-up your child for any reason, you are not permitted to the classroom. The school policy is to get a visitors pass from Officer Howard and then wait at the office for your child to come to you. After you pick up your child at the office please remember to sign them out.If you need to speak with me please leave a message at the office, stop me at dismissal or leave a note in your child’s planner and I will get back to you as quickly as possible.
Reading Logs have been sent home. They are collected every month. If they are not completed and signed by a parent they will not be counted as complete. Studies have shown that children who read at least 30 minutes per day continue to grow as readers. Those children who do not read at least 30 minutes per day do not improve as quickly. If your child does not read during the school year they are more likely to fall back on their reading success and their reading level will reflect that.
Study Island is a new software program used in the computer lab. The children have been introduced to it and are able to use it at home. It is a wonderful tool to support and enrich skills and strategies they are using in school. All the children have been given a log in and password. If you have any questions please let me know.
