Reading - Our reading series is SRA Open Court Reading. This is a whole language arts program. Phonics, spelling, reading, and writing are included. Your child will bring decodable paperback books home to read to you. He/She may check out other readers to read at home and will have school library books to read also. The Accelerated Reading program will soon begin as well. Please read nightly with your child. Make this an enjoyable and special time. Homework will include decodable books to read, vocabulary words and definitions to learn, word lines and high frequency words to know, and reviews.
