CONTRACT for “GET SMART”

The Senior High Drama Department is planning to present “GET SMART”,  Nov. 19, 20 & 21  at 7:00 p.m.   with one additional 2:00 p.m. matinee on the 21st.   Plays are fun, but they are also a lot of work and require certain rules in order to be a positive experience for everyone.   For this reason, we require a signed contract from all participants and their parents.    If the student is interested in participating, the student and a parent must both sign this contract and return it no later than Thursday September 24th. Students must turn in a signed contract with specified dates on them in order to be excused from a rehearsal.

AGREEMENT:  I understand that in order to participate in the play, I must meet the following conditions:

1.     Attendance will be taken.  I will be expected to be at rehearsals on time and on the days specified on the schedule.

  1.  Rehearsals will be Monday through Friday from 3:30 to 6:00p.m.   I am allowed 2 excused absences.  The 2 days that I must miss due to previously scheduled appointments are: ___& ___ Students are expected to be present any day their character is listed on the schedule.
  2. Dress rehearsals will be on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, Nov. 16, 17, & 18 and will last until 8:00 p.m.   We have been known to rehearse later if the students are not ready, so be prepared for this possibility.  There will also be an all day rehearsal on Friday, Nov. 13 from 8:15 til 3:00 (during parent/teacher conferences.)
  3. If you are sick and cannot attend rehearsal, you must leave a message on Mrs. Jensen’s voice mail.  Remember we’re a team and absences affect everyone.  They may require everyone to start earlier or work later.

2.     Lines must be memorized by the dates indicated on the schedule.

3.     Parents are asked to help in some way, with refreshments the nights of the play, providing dinner for dress rehearsals, working on the set, helping with cleanup, or supervising students selling tickets, ushering & selling refreshments.

I understand that failure to abide by the above conditions may result in expulsion from the play. (Keep one copy for yourself; return the other to Mrs. J)
