"GET SMART" The High School Theatre Department just finished auditions for "Get Smart" based on the old tv show by Mel Brooks. It will be presented November 19, 20, & 21 at 7:00 p.m. with an additional 2:00 p.m. matinee on the 21st. More details will be forthcoming. Parents of students in the play should note the contract and schedules listed on the left side of this page. Click on Contract and it will give you all the details you should know about requirements for being in the play. Please fill out the contract and return it to Mrs. Jensen as soon as possible. Click on the rehearsal schedules and you will find when your son or daughter is expected to be at rehearsals. It includes the following: 1. Acting: includes improvisation and short scene work 2. Stage Fighting and Movement – stage your own fights and character movement 3. Costumes and Makeup: create your own costumes, character makeup and wounds 4. Stagecraft: learn basic set building 5. Lights and Sound: Learn the basics of running a light and sound board 6. Publicity – design and create your own publicity for the production 7. Final Project will be a scene that incorporates all the above aspects. Progressive: Stagecraft: Class covers all aspects of set production. It includes the following: - Students will design and create sets for upcoming theater productions
- maintain and improve the theater space
- learn to use and design lighting and sound in productions.
- learn the use of power tools, including drills and saws
- learn creative problem solving in designing sets and set pieces that fit the requirements of the play and director.
SEC: Thursday/Friday/Saturday Night Live Students will create their own production patterned after Saturday Night Live to be presented at the end of the quarter: The production will include: - improvisation
- creating and acting in their own sketches, OR acting in already scripted one act plays
- other acts recruited by the students, such as bands, singers, slam poets, etc.
- students will be responsible for all aspects of the production including the production itself, publicity, and ticket sales
