Katie Bradford

Hi, I'm Katie Bradford.   As a professional actress, I have been performing in the Denver Area for over 17 years.  I am a member of Actor’s Equity and have performed at such venues as the Arvada Center and Country Dinner Playhouse and the Aurora Fox.   In addition, I was a member of the Denver Center Theatre Company the year they won the Tony Award for best regional theatre.  For film, commercial and voice over work I am currently represented by Donna Baldwin Talent.  I have a BA in Theatre from DeSales University, home of the Pennsylvania Shakespeare festival.  I love teaching and before coming to DA I taught privately and at the Aurora Fox and Arvada Center Theatres.  On a personal note, I reside in beautiful Golden Colorado with my husband, our six year old son, and 17 month old dautgher.

Hi.  I'm Leigh Anne Jensen. I've taught drama here at DA since 1994.   My journey in becoming a drama teacher has been much more round about than Katie's.  I majored in drama in school, did some community theatre here in Denver, and then wondered what in the world I was going to do with a drama major (to make a living).   I worked in the insurance business (hated it), sold real estate (enjoyed that, but found it hard to manage a young family at the same time), then taught piano while my children were small, went back to school, got my teaching license and planned to teach elementary school.  Finally, I came to DA as a teaching assistant in elementary, discovered that they didn't have a music program at the time, started teaching some music classes, and then started adding drama to the mix.  Everyone was so amazed at the talent of these children that they asked me to start a music and drama program.  Eventually, I became the high school drama teacher as we added a full time music teacher, and later on, an elementary and middle school drama teacher.  In meeting the needs of these incredibly artistic children, they met my needs and allowed me do what I most love:  teach and direct theater.
